enclosures for new toys

I'd go bigger if you can, like 1.5-2ft^3...that is, if you want to get some more low-end out of it. The HF line prefers a larger sealed enclosure to get a .707qtc alignment. I know the 15" model recommends a 5.5ft^3 for a .707qtc and 3.75ft^3 for a .8qtc.

Alright I came up with 20x8x24 for a approx 1.6 cu ft prior to displacement approx 1.4 cu ft after. I like those specs simply because it fits nicely into 3 2x4 sheets (I can't fit 4x8 sheets in my car). What do you guys think?

If I do it that way the subs would be facing up....I have always preferred subs facing back, and second choice subs facing up. So I'm thinking I'll settle facing up, do you think it will affect loudness a lot or not much?

meh ok i'll go 14x14x18 grab and extra sheet of wood. 1.5 prior to dispacement aprox 1.3 after I really would rather not use fill, it was my understanding that fill was just a way to enhance a box that is not made to the proper spec....wouldn't I just want to make a box to spec? maybe I'm wrong.

Redisgned enclosure to 16x12.75x12.75 this should give me a QTC of .707 and will fit nicely into only 2 2x4 sheets of mdf. Should sound really tight, won't get as low though, but thats ok, bcuz I listen music that his mostly in the low 40s.
