i thought isobaric was one sub on top of the other sub...facing each other. and in an isobaric box it is half of the recomended volume.

what your saying sounds like just one sub regular and one inverted. and in that case just build to the specs for 2 subs.

 
for Compound Isobaric use 1/2 the volume that you would for 1 individual sub. (If you would put 1 Acme 4" in 30.0 cubes - put an isobaric clamshell into 15.0 cubes.)

Make sure you seal between the two subs as well, and Yes, one sub HAS to be wired out of phase or else they'll destroy each other. You want them moving in & out together.

You could try to make the port longer, but there might be other reasons with the box won't extend lower, or even the sub. You'd have to reverse...
