Enclosure confusion....

So I picked up this box in a trade and cannot figure out what the specs or tuning of it is. I cannot figure out what kind of 10' sub that would go good in here. Shoot me some conclusions and opinions. I'm thinking decently high tuning... And the marker is drawn on there to indicate the port walls..

What is the actual opening of the port?

Hard to tell from the pic.

5.something " x 9.something" ???

The port itself is 5 inches wide and 9 1/2 inches tall. If you look in the third pic you can follow the port walls all the way around and into the main chamber.

Actual port length is need to reverse calculate it.

Even if it is pretty close (within a few inches)

looks like southern yellow pine but hard to tell for sure from photos. fat lighter makes great outdoor fire starter. stick a lighter to it and I bet it goes up in flames.

Ha! Lol. I wanna use it for an enclosure first, not firewood! I might throw a smaller sub in there to see if it gets eaten alive... Those ports walls are crazy

Whatever it is, it's not tuned high. The port is too long for it to be tuned high.

Looks like someone made an uneducated attempt at a folded horn or some other sort of transmission line.

But yeah, put something in it and see how it sounds. Worse thing that can happen is it will sound like it looks. ;-)
