Enclosure build for NewAgeKing's TC OEM

great work... but just one tip...

next time either paint the flushmount black, or take the carpet down into it... if you get the right kind of carpet it will strech and fit right down onto the lower baffle

Thanks

And I did paint the flush mount black //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif...its just not in the pics. If NewAgeKing posts pics of when he gets it you'll see. But yea, I shouldve made the carpeting go down into it

i was just wondering if u could build me a box for a single 15 inch hd3. i would just like it to be about 4 to 4.5 cbft. tuned to 40 hz and i dont need it to be carpeted thank you very much

Thanks for the write up on the carpet.
And most certainly a great job on the packaging.

And now, Carpeting Part 2 "Carpeting the inset sides"...

If you get to where I left off...the inset sides still need finsihed..here we go:

-Now, with the excess hanging over the sides that you should have...take it (it should be one solid ring of cloth around the parameter of the side) and cut each corner down to the corner of the box to make folding easier..

-Then pick a side to start with..spray some glue down where it'd be (both the top of the 'lip' of the inset and the inside of the 'lip')...and press it down firmly

-Then take your razor (i prefer to use and exacto-knife because its very sharp, but also thin with a thin handle so you can control it better in the smaller areas youre cutting) and put it in the very corner and cut the cloth upwards, removing the cloth from the corners so that it is a fresh 45 degree cut both ontop+side of the lip.

-Then repeat with that piece's other corner.

-Now, run your cutting tool along the inside-bottom of the inset's lip to trim away cloth that is excess and touching the face of the inset.

-Repeat that with the other 3 lip-areas of the inset..making the cuts carefully in the corners so that the seems meet up and keep a 45 degree match.

-Now, it's time to cut a square with sides approx. 1" longer than the dimensions of the inset..

-(grab a flat-headed screw driver or body-filler spreader before this) Spray down the entire inset with glue and press the piece of cloth down firmly into the inset, you should have excess along the edges sticking up along the inside of the lips, make sure that you now take your flathead/spreader and press the cloth into the corners..

-You will now want to take your razor and put it in the corners of the inset and go around, cutting the excess of that piece away..

And you should now have a pretty much seemless carpet job because all seems of any size will be in the corners of the insets (except for one, which will be on the bottom/back of your enclosure)
