Emergancy, I Need Wiring Diagram Help with sub...

Hey guys, So, i'm an idiot. I have a kenwood KAC-7202. I also bought an Alpine SWR 1242 (Type R- Dual 4 ohm). The amp Sais its 460 Watts bridged at 4ohms (4 Ohm stable) Does that mean that its not 2 ohm stable? Do i have to wire my sub (dual 4 ohms) for an 8 ohm load? Or can i wire it for a 2 ohm load and not risk frying my sub/amp? I'm confused, and my sub is comes in the mail tomorow, I don't want to blow my sub or my amp, and i've realized that I might be a complete moron for not buying the two ohm model sub, so i could wire it for a 4ohm load.

Basically the question is, Do i have to wire my sub (dual 4 ohms) for an 8 ohm load, so i don't risk frying the amp/sub, because the amp said it would push 460 Watts rms at a 4 ohm load, and the amp is 4 ohm stable. Can I run the sub at 2 ohms, Safely? Please, someone help before i give myself a heart attack lol.

hate to bring bad news... no, you can't run that amp safely @2ohms. you have to wire it for an 8 ohm load

I think that amp still puts out 300 watts rms into an 8ohm mono load, I know that the 7252 puts out 340 into 8ohms.

****.. Thats shitty. I'd just go and exchange it for the 2 ohm model, but its an ebay thing. Its weird though cause it sais that it pushes 230w x 2 @ 2 ohms. Oh well, I'll just have to sell one of them. Thanks for your help guys.

wait, you have TWO of the DVC4's?

if in that case, you can wire EACH to each channel, or put them together and get a 4ohm load to bridge the amp.

if you have ONE type r DVC4, you are SOL man. wire it to 8, if its not loud enough, eaither get a better amp (look into power acoustik mono amps (theres a 800w mono amp IIRC that will do around that power at 2 ohms)

otherwise. i dont think you are in luck.

Nope only one sub. I'm SOL for a while as it looks. I'm Suprised I didnt realize that I bought the 4 ohm model instead of the 2 ohm one. How are power Akoustic amps? I almost got one, but i really havn't heard much on them compared to kenwood.

300 watts RMS should be enough to make that sub twang, try it out and see how it sounds.

I'm waiting impatiently for it to come in. Its squedualed to be here today or tomorow, and i have to leave for work in an hour, so i'm getting pretty antsy. The company (audiosavings on ebay) who shipped it took 4 days to ship it, while there site said it would only take 1-2 days. Sucks *** that i'm waiting.

How are power Akoustic amps?

cant speak with experience but from what ive read about them I would say they are midlevel stuff.
