HU will not store memory

I have an Alpine head unit now. I used to have a problem with my stock one whichis why i replaced it with the alpine. Thing is i still have the same problem. The problem is that my HD will not store stations,settings and wount turn on when i start the car. I have to manually readjust the bass/treble/crossover settings every time. Can some one kindly tell me what is wrong or how to fix it? thanks

it is wired wrong...it only has the ignition wire hooked up so it only gets power when the car/ignition is on....you have to make sure the main power wire which is always on (usually yellow) is connected...make sure it hasnt been pintched or d/c at the fuse box

Bingo. The yellow wire needs to be connected to a constant 12v source.

i have my red and yellow wire connected to the yellow power sourse because i have a ignition switch prob....works fine, but i have to remember to turn it off! LOL
