Electrical Upgrade Questions

I am going to be getting a Kicker ZX2500.1 soon and I am wondering what type of electrical I should be looking to get.

On a Honda Prelude I am thinking about upgrading to a 160A H/O alternator, with a 66Ah Yellow Top Optima under the hood, and either 2 600 Kinetik Batteries in the back or one 1400 Kinetik (depending on whats cheaper). With a single run of 1/0 Gauge wire to the back, and 1/0 Gauge to the amp.

Would this be enough to hold the amp at around 14V at 2500rms?

I want to upgrade as cheap as possible haha.

I would say just run Kinetik all around, I haven't been real impressed with optima lately. Also what yeah Honda do you have, you are more than likely going to need to bypass the ELD

Don't have the Honda yet, I am getting it in the next few weeks, just looking for to get one at a good price. What is the ELD?

Thank you for showing me that! Haha for some reason it makes me want to get the car more, just so I can really dig into the car and do that mod. But back to the main question, you guys think that electrical I stated in the original post, would be sufficient?

I would say just run Kinetik all around,

I second that. And make sure the 160a alternator is QUALITY, otherwise it'll fail before you know it and be a waste of money.

The absolute biggest you can fit under the hood... then maybe a 1400 in the back.

Also, if your Prelude falls between the years of 99-01, this would be the best alternator for you

You might want to talk to @MECHMAN to see if that would fit, first.

That alt is still for sale! It's a beast, really wish I could use it in my 2010 VW Golf...But anyway, I only had a yellow top and this alt in my accord running a hifonics 2010bxi (2000 watts) and a small pioneer amp and had zero dimming issues.

Even if you don't buy my alt, you should be fine with at least a 200 amp alternator and a good battery at least.
