4 runs?? why?I got 4 runs of 0 gauge cca, 5 75ah batts, and a 270a mechman alt. I run two 3000ds at 1 ohm with another 1000 watts in amps for mids and only voltage drop I see is at idle
it allows the current to flow much easier, i noticed a significant difference when i went to multiple runs.4 runs?? why?
Right but he only has a 270 amp alt. His two 3000d's are pulling max 700 amps. He's getting a lot of that power from the back battery bank not the alternator and front batt. 1 run of good 0 gauge wire should handle 300 amps no problem, any more than 2 runs of 0 gauge has really no benefit for him.it allows the current to flow much easier, i noticed a significant difference when i went to multiple runs.
in theory, but ive seen quite a few people make gains adding more runs with single 200-250 amp alts.Right but he only has a 270 amp alt. His two 3000d's are pulling max 700 amps. Remember, I said cca. Plus, I figured that it couldn't hurt me so why not?Right but he only has a 270 amp alt. His two 3000d's are pulling max 700 amps. A guy around here that does 165's and runs dual alt 18V only uses 1 run to the back. If your battery bank is large enough you shouldn't have to worry too much about a dozen runs to the back, that's more useful in classes limited to only or mostly just what's under the hood.Right but he only has a 270 amp alt. Oh okay thought you meant 4 runs of positive.I ran 2+ runs and 2- runs
Well he actually may see gains if he added an extra run. I'm sure his two alts are putting out more amps than what that one strand of positive wire is rated for.A guy around here that does 165's and runs dual alt 18V only uses 1 run to the back. It's only for the purpose of charging the battery bank. AFAIK car is off most of the time when he's in the lane.Oh okay thought you meant 4 runs of positive.
