C0CK,its whats for dinner
I went out today to leave my house, I try to disable my alarm, nothing happens. I use the key to open to door, alarm doesnt go off. I try to start the car, nothing happens.

So I got my brothers car, and tried to jump it. I let his car run for about 30 minutes, and tried to start mine, the guages and everything jumped, and my dome light came on, and my mileage came on, but all I heard from the starter was "Tick Tick Tick." I let it charge for another 15-20 minutes, and then tried again, it tried to turn over, but nothing happened.

My neighbor called his brother, who is a mechanic, and he said to clean the battery terminals. I did, and still nothing. And when I reconnected the terminals after cleaning, it was completely dead again...

Do I need a new battery? Someone told me I might need a new alt....

HELP PLEASE

Battery checked out.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I am going to install it tomorrow morning, and take the car over to Advanced because the guy said he would check all the connections, and do some tests for me. Hopefully I just left something on and I dont need to replace anything.

If I need a new alt, I will get a HO, any reccomendations that are under $200? I am using a 600w amp.

what size alt? a good 200 amper would be near impossible to find for under 200 but with 600 watts you really don't need a 200 amp alt. try doing the big 3 and make sure you have proper sized wiring throughout your whole car.

Well I had it checked out today, and nothing was wrong... Just reconnected my amp though, and when I turn off my car the amp stays on. How can I fix this, install a switch in the REM line, or power cable?

Also, ever since I got this amp installed, when I turn the ignition my subs THUMP a couple times. I know all about turn on thump and what not, but this is when the face of my HU is not even in yet, so there should be no power going to the amp yet. Any thoughts?

The remote should be connected to the HU!(amp will turn off when HU is turned off) About the thump... check your ground, make sure all paint has been scrapped off...what guage is you ground?

I installed it all, and the remote is connected to my HU. This didnt happen when I had my Audiobahn amp, just now when I put in my JBL amp.

My ground is 4 guage, and I do need to reground it, I didnt do a good job at all before. Could this just be the problem?

Weird I had a JBL and it turned on and off with the HU......Hopefully the new ground will fix the thump noise! How many remote wires are in the back of the HU(blue wires).

^true.......When jumping....a lot of people do not connet the cables correctly....My neighbor was about to take his battery and alt out to take it to Autozone to get them checked.....I told him wait and correctly connected the jumper cables........Started right up......Off topic also.....
