I have most of my system and the rest is on it's way...I can't wait to get it all and get back from vacation so I can start the install. This is my system:

Alpine 9815 w/DVD&CD changer (in dash screen & overhead screen coming later)

2 (two) sets of Focal Uptopia 165W (front/rear in a supercrew)

2 (two) Zapco C2K-2.0X (comp amps)

2 (two) Treo SSi10.44 subs (wired to 4 ohm)

Viper D2500.1 (got a refurb/will upgrade this amp later)

Now, other than the "big 3" (that's right ,I did a bit of research) should I add a HO alt & yellow top? Or, one or the other? Is there anything else I haven't thought of?

Red top under the hood, and the big 3. Start there. Find out if you have voltage drops and then go from there. Add a yellow top in the rear near the amp. Then if more upgrading is needed look in to a HO alt.

Just noticed you are going to run the 2500.1 @ 4ohms, which is a shame, tell me when you decide to sell it. But, because you are running it there, depending on your factory system, you may be fine. Take trigger's suggexstion.

What if I cant fit a yellow top near the amp? If I have any voltage drops after the Red Top and Big 3, should I just get the HO alt? I already planned on getting the HO alt. Any other suggestions? What about a Batcap??? I might be able to fit one of those as long as it's not an 800. I've heard mixed reviews about those.

The 2500.1 has to be behind my seat...I want it to run cooler hence the 4 ohm load.

This is all in a 05 F150 SuperCrew and I need to be able use the backseat. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

Well you wont have to worry about it @ 2ohms, it was designed for it.

I haven't ordered my subs yet...do you think it will be alright at 2 ohms? It's going to be my daily set-up and it will be mounted on the wall behind the rear seat back. There's not alot of air circulation there.

Sorry for a few n00b questions...this is my 2nd system...my first was in my last truck:

9815 (I love this HU)

2 (two) JL 300/2

1 JL 500/1

12W7 (eventually downsized to a 10W7 because of a new baby)

5.5 Boston ProSeries (in pre-fab kicks)

6.5 Boston ProSeries

5x7 Boston Rallys (as filler)

I ran 2 gauge, didn't do the big 3, and had a Yellow Top...never had a problem.

Yes I do, it was designed to operate at that resistnance so thats what I would do if I could. The 2500.1 is an expensive amp, but it was built for serious people, so they would not have slouched on it. The amp has thermal protection so if it starts going into protection, it is uber easy to put a 12V cpu fan or two on the heatsink.

Cool. Those Treo subs are rated @ 750 rms, if I ran them at 2 ohms that would give me alot of head room with that amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

The more I think about it, the more I keep thinking I should go with the Zapco C2K9.0X instead of the Viper 2500.1. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif
