Electrical problem.... maybe blown fuse?

On saturday nite i was driving to a party. my music was fine until it suddenly crapped out on me. i have a 4g power cable running to a 2.2 farad cap which goes to a jl 500/1 and a kicker kx 350.4. the radio kept playing but there was just no sound and the cap was off. could the fuse that is near the battery on the power cable be blown? there was some orange stuff on the fuse when i took it out and i wont be able to go get a new one till i get out of school. can someone help me and suggest any other areas where i could look to fix the problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

The orange stuff could be corrosion. Clean the fuse and and fuse terminals and make sure the fuse itself has not blown or fried. Even if the inner fuse appears to be intact it still may have fried. Also check and clean all connections including grounds as even a loose connection or small bit of corrosion could cause loss of power.
