Electrical for Taramps HD3000 1 ohm??

Ok so I am thinking about trying a Brazilian amp just for the heck of it. The Taramps HD3k's are not to bad for the price and from what ive seen they perform well and have the T-Fade stamp of approval lol.

For those of you with experience, whats the electrical required for these? Better yet how bad are they as far as amp draw on your electrical?

I ran my Banda 5k on a 320 amp alt with just an XS D3100 under the hood and it was solid.

If you got a 270 amp alt or bigger, you would be fine keeping your D3400 and HC1800 for electrical.

I wouldn't expect that you would see noticeable gain over your soundstream amp though

Idk about noticeable gain. T-fades test shows 1400 + rising to like 5.1 ohms at 12v. I know damn sure the Soundstream is not going to be close to 1400 watts at 12v. I think if i didnt change the alt i would see a difference just in the efficiency with voltage difference between the 2. Also the Soundstream is only rated 800 @ 4ohm. I wish someone near by had one i could test out

Try it out and see then.

I'm saying I wouldn't spend the extra money to upgrade if the upgrade wasn't significantly bigger.

Yea i see what your saying. I for the most part just want to try something different. This is the longest time ive kept any audio lol. Ive had the amps going on 3 years. So i will say it seems very reliable

get a bass 6k or 8k 3 agms plus one under the hood is fine.

The price to watt ratio is not that good until you get to the higher number amps. You dont have to worry about electrical, just keep gain and subwoofer low like REALLY low -12 sub level or so then go up until your voltage starts dropping. I dont have anywhere near the electrical needed to run two 15ks but i can do it anyways and still get pretty **** loud and have a lot of headroom left when i actually do an electrical overhaul.

For sure a 3k wont be worth it for you. i'd actually say its a waste of money.

I see what your saying. I just figured knowing the power difference it wouldnt be a bad upgrade.

New 8k's being had under $600 id go that route. I have two of the older ones and have no complaints. The newer ones are even better for lows.

The 8k is deff the best bang for buck Taramps amp.

I had a DSP3000 and DSP1600 but they were on my mids with a Taramps 20k on subs. So I can't comment on draw. A team mate of mine runs the dsp 3000 on his 2 15"s and loves it. Much more output and less draw than his SQ 2200.

That last part is actually very helpful

However whats the difference in the DSP & HD Taramps?
