Efficiency of Hifonics amps (1206, 1606, 2006, 2606)

Okay, so I hear everyone saying that Hifonics amps do not put out rated power. Seems like it would be true given the low price that these amps can be bought for. However, I have never seen concrete evidence of this.... so my questions are...

1.) What is the actual efficiency of these amps?

2.) Does anyone have any links to where these have been benched, or first hand experience of benching these?

I was just kinda curious seeing as how I have a 1206 and would like to know a ballpark figure of what it REALLY puts out.

im running my bx1500d at 2ohms (1000 suggested power) it gets down pretty good but im not sure of my actual power

Maybe 100-300 rms lower then they say they are.

bout to say i figured it cant be too bad i was doing the math at 14.4 volts (idle) and if it was only 80% efficient it would still do almost 1K (my 1206) and I dont get very much voltage drop at all even when wanging pretty hard (big *** battery and big 3)

wish i could get some exact numbers... might have to shoot an email to maxxsonics myself.

I would like to know that myself. There's many on this forum that recommend them but once in a while you get someone saying that only their old stock is good, so for someone like me that cant afford a $700 amp that does 700watts this would be helpful to know.

ONLY 80% efficient? 80% is a huge and high end number.

i daresay that many amps are that efficient.

if you doubt that a hifonics is even 80% efficient then that brings to question when people say that a zx2500.1 is 90% efficient.

I used to own many zx2500s, and while its not too friendly under 2ohms, its definately one efficient amp. I've used two batteries with a stock alt (105 amp) and my voltage holds up just fine. While i have no actual numbers, i would love to see results about hifonics and kicker.

i got an hifonics in my SIG and it pounds a P312D4 in a horrible sealed box so maybe the higher ones are overrated, but its not one of the bigger ones when i hook it up to 1ohm on my type R its should rattle my mirrors off lol

The higher ones are only slightly overrated, but they are still good amps and can put out good power

I am interested to see the results as well. I'm pretty sure I am going to pull the trigger on a BXI2608 tomorrow.
