Educated Subwoofer Decision

What type of warranty does the BTL Have? I have had alot of people recommend that sub so far. Wierd not really any name brands have been recommended to me. Main reason I was looking at the name brands is because of the warranty. Anyhow, lemme know about that warranty.

Also, I have been looking at the JBL GTO1200.1 amp. I havnt bought it yet but is there a more cost effective alternative that is just as good or better? Once again I want something with at least a 1 year warranty. Professional install required no problem, whatever for a warranty. Lemme know, thanks

So you dont have the amp yet? You're options are endless really lol Is there any chance of you building a new box or no? If not... My first recomendation is going to be the SI mag. You can give it 500-1500 watts and it will sound good all the way through. I had the 15" in the trunk of my civic on 1100 watts and it wanGed haaaard for 1 15". People would always tell me they thought I had 4 12"s. Not to mention it did a 142 at the dash. Scratch the BTL idea, too much power needed and you'll need a larger box too. You could look into the bl though. But I'm sticking behind the mag.

I'd say a DD 3500...perfect power, space and tuning seem close to spec, and it's a badass ssounding sub. It'll get loud as hell in a Fbody, 130? Try high 130's if not low 140's:veryhapp:

I hear great things about the FI Q, The Mags and the DD's.

Personally I love Kicker, I would reccommend a CVX 12" or if you can do a 15" you can run 1000RMS easily to that as well. Some people run almost 1000 to just the 12" but I cannot gurantee anything from that because it is factory rated at 750RMS so I wouldnt advise it personally.

Either way man, there are a LOT of good subs out there that arent as mainstream as the ones in best buy and such, but most of them are cheaper and a TON better. The ones reccommended in this thread are all SICK subs.

Still working on the box, got the outside dimensions done last night. I havnt done the porting yet as that is going to based on the sub, but I'm going to put a slot port in it I think, would be cool to have 1 on each side of the box, not sure how to get those measurements tho. I am building the box on top of the hump in my TA, where the gas tank is if you can view it. Not enough air space with the stealth box and not losing my T-Top space. After its all said and done I'll have about 2.25 air space after speakerdisplacement and all. Also, I cant do a 15". I have 14 inches high 39" wide on the top side I can use.
