It wouldn't be the first time a large company put the scare into a smaller company with an unsubstantiated legal threat.

Whether or not they could be found guilty of patent infringement would be up to a judge and not you, me, audioholic, nor eD or JL.

But I think most would have to agree that their phone call was warranted and they were "close enough" that had JL taken it to court, they had good reason. To try to label it unsubstantiated or "bullying" is a little moronic.

People keep asking about specifics on the ED thing and we keep getting redirected to threads like this where everyone says Ben lied but nothing explaining exactly what he lied about.

And yes, I know I win. Im arguing against a company that lies, cheats and steals to get what they want. Its easy to win when you are standing on the correct side of the debate. I do have a bookmarks folder called "ED lies" with links to posts in which Mr. Milne and other ED reps straight out lie to benefit themselves. All of them can be countered with ED's We're not dishonest, we're incompetent. defense. For some reason this satisfies many of their fans who are willing to rally behind that position.

Much more interesting are posts like this wherein Mr. Milne reacts to my having pointed out problems with their products by attacking me in a very personal; and completely dishonest way. This is more interesting than specific examples of dishonesty because it helps to explain the intense emotions that this guy brings out.

Prior to this groundless attack, I was willing to take ED pretty much at their word and believe that their problems were the result of ignorance and incompetence and I did my best to remain neutral. I did enjoy poking fun at the videos they posted, but only occasionally engaged directly when eDead products were being misrepresented. The post on ICIX leaves no doubt in my mind that while Mr. Milne and his employees may indeed be incompetent, he at least, is certainly willing to lie rather than admit to any problems. Pretty pathetic.

Describing negative comments in hyperbolic terms like: Nazi, eats babies, etc. really just serves ED's cause. As an example, I pointed out that they had overstated the mass/area figures of their old asphalt version of eDead by 25%. This was very easy enough to do. Weigh some samples and compare them to the figures published on the ED Web site. Simple. This was characterized as irrational hatred on my part. See the mismatch?

ED and its supporters deflect criticism by drastically overstating the nature of the criticism. Sort of like the way they drastically overstate the role they play in bringing their products to market //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif In order to believe them, you would have to believe that every company on earth is out to crush them. JL, Tang Band, Bassworx, Tsunami, Avionix, numerous speaker build houses - the list goes on and on. What are the chances that ED is the injured party in every single instance? I'd say ZERO. ED travels a fine line between gross exaggeration and outright dishonesty and that tends to really piss people off. People like these are exactly why intellectual property needs to be defended. Look around. JL behaved respectfully and professionally. ED used the situation to further their martyrdom marketing campaign.

this could take awhile, i'll try to keep it blunt.
- eD(ben) started preorders on a product that never made it out and never refunded people

- eD "borrowing" designs and claiming it as their own

- eD blaming Tangbang for stealing designs from their buildhouse(old buildhouse)

- eD not honoring warranty that was clearly defective product & blaming customer

- eD claiming to being innovative...i.e. claiming to get rid of the triple joint first

- eD taking way TOO many shortcuts on the eDead.

..- first eDead was asphalt, claimed it wasnt

..- 2nd eDead claimed it was butyl when it didnt have any at all, it was a different formula of rubber

...-eD now uses some butyl in their eDead but now they got rid of foil backing and using Mylar(plastic); mylar burns and soo does butyl = big firehazard. also backing will separate since nothing sticks to plastic well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

- eD claiming their subs sizes are 1 size bigger than everyone else because of a different surround....which ID uses too, yet they dont rename it

I truly have not seen anyone win anything yet. I have seen several people give up trying to understand one person.

And to validate Me as an idiot? That is taking things one to two steps past a level I have not gone yet nor will I go. I have seen statements over and over from audioholic, stating there is facts that ED lied, cheated and stole. and he presents those 3 things as facts. But without bringing any evidence to the table it is only slander. I am truly looking for facts in this case. So if you did not detect my genuine approach I am sorry but if you notice the post was not directed towards you and if audioholic, chooses he may send links to me via PM.

I think you Hoss, need to avoid the direct attack upon my person.

I have stated that I feel that audioholic has a hatred inside but have yet to attack him as you have just done to me. I would appreciate it if you did not continue to do so as you do not know me well enough to take anything to that level (no threats I just do not roll that way and the people that know me know that)

Just because someone has more passion to engage this topic more "aggressively" than others does mean they have "owned" anyone, most have given up trying to understand why he is so aggressive in the stance.

Several of you want to talk about this as if Im just all emotion. The truth is it is YOU who has nothing but emotion to go on. Again, refute one single solitary fact Ive presented about the company. If I state facts about eD, Im "hating". If I do not let people alter the FACTS as time passes, Im "not letting it go". Searching should get you all you need, most threads like this seem to come down to an ED supporter demanding specifics. Fair enough I guess, but ask yourself why this company is the target of so much intense dislike. Can you think of any other cases where a decent business is constantly attacked for no reason? One of the reasons given for this is jealousy, but that is a little hard to accept when it isn't competitors making the claims. I've never understood why so many people are willing to accept "irrational hatred" as the reason. I can't imagine why anybody would be willing to spend a second of their lives acting on "irrational hatred". If anything, the truth tends to bubble up to the surface in the virtual world.
