ED K for my Silverado?

I am trying to figure out what to put into my single cab Chevy. I bought the 5 channel amplifier from Alpine (MRV-F450) and I'm not sure what sub to get because it only gets 200w. Would it be a bad idea to run a 10" ed k off of this amp, since its recommended to have 325w? If so what is a good sub to run off of this amp? Space is very limited, so maybe I should go with an 8".

Also, I'm thinking of installing CDT CL-61's in the door and maybe infinity kappa 4X6 in the rear pillars. Is 50w to each sufficient, or are there any recommendations for these speakers too?

The K would be fine with 200 watts...

50 watts is enough to power those components...are you using an external amp for this? With the components up front, I don't think you need any rear fill at all. The CDT's will work well.

I am using the same amp for the components and the subwoofer. The alpine amp is rated at 50wx4 + 200w. I am open to any suggestions though...if you couldn't tell already, i'm new to this.

Oh yeah, sorry that failed to click in my head.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif

I think everything would work perfect:)

The amp with the components would work fine. Do you a bench seat or buckets? If you have buckets and the center console... you can fit a 12" sub in a custom box that sits right on the console. You'll loose your hearing in your right ear though... :-D

If you have bench seats, you can pretty much fit whatever you want, depending on how tall you are. In my truck with bench seats I have 2 12s, and I have to push the seat up too far to be comfortable.

So pretty much the components would work fine, and just pick what sub you want. I think the 10" eD K would be perfect. Good luck

I have the bench seat. I'm hoping that I won't have to move the seat at all. I went out and measured just now and it looks like i can build a wedge box that should work. If i do this I will probably still lose my hearing because it will be pointing forward beween the seats when the armrest is down. Maybe that's a bad idea. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

200 watts will work but man they sound a whole lot better when u put the recommended wattage to it

but 200 watts will thump too just not as much
