eD A series for SQ setup?

Lately I've been thinking about taking out the stock speakers in my car and putting together a new system for daily driving. I want the best sound quality I can possibly get (without spending and arm and a leg), while still being able to get relatively loud for the occasional showing off, annoying people nearby, etc (//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif)

From what I've read, Elemental Designs' A series subs seem to work well in SQ setups. However I don't know what size subs and what type/size of enclosure would be ideal in my situation. I've done some experimenting in WinISD Pro, but it really didn't help me decide. Could someone help me out here?

I also need to decide on an amp to power the sub(s), so any suggestions you could give me would be greatly appreciated //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'd prefer to stay ~$600 or under for the subs and ~$400 for the amp.

Keep in mind though, I don't necessarilyneed anything ear-shatteringly loud; I don't plan on doing any competitions or anything. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

600 bucks should be able to get you 2 12A's

if you dont care about spl and are really concerned about price id recommend an Image Dynamics IDQ series sub... they are cheap (under $200) and they sound good...but again arent for SPL at all

The 12A's are amazing for SQ and still have the ability to get loud. Though if you are looking for the best sq out of them I would actually go sealed but bigger than the ED recommended enclosure. I put mine in a 1.6 cube sealed box and it has a much flatter response than it did in the smaller box.

Thanks for everyone's responses. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Get 2 eD A's for like 275 each, then buy the Tsunami 1800T for another, 375. running 900 watts per sub, and blam, SQ and SPL!

Hmmm. Taking what both of you guys have said into condideration, I could get 2 e12a's and a Tsunami 1800T and stick them in a sealed box, say....4 ft^3? Or should it be a little smaller?
