eD 16Ov.2 or RE XXX?

I will be getting 1300$ to spend soon, and I am looking for a good Daily driving setup but would like A good amount of SPL, the ratio I guess would be SPL 70% SQ 30%, And I've heard good things about both subs, I just was wondering what would be the best out of the 2 as far as pure BASS, because I know both have decent SQ, Also factor in I'll need to buy, an amp, an optima yellow top, a new headunit, a box, a wiring kit...so yeah just gimmie opinions guys and thanks!

In a one on one comparison, the XXX.....However, you could probably get two of the O's for the same price.........

If you want 70 SPL/30 SQ, I would look into something more along the lines of a Kicker L7. From what I've read, both have a little more than "decent" sound quality..

just wondering how many of you have heard the 16ov2 and 15xxx.I personally have a 16ov2 and my friend has a new xxx15. He's running his off a tantrum 1200.1 in a 4cf vented box and i'm running my 16ov2 off my crossfire vr1000d in a 2.2cf vented box.My set up gets louder than his, atleast by ear.He used to also have a hc15 and my set up got louder than that too.Don't underestimate the 16ov2 because it's not as massive and the magnet isn't as big.The 16ov2 is a very capable driver.I just find it funny how some comment and most always recommend "the hype subs" without even hearing one or even the one its compared to.The xxx will no doubt take more power but if you have 1200 rms of less, you'll be surprised on how loud the 16ov2 gets and how good it sounds.I even like it more than my old flat cone e15a, sounds better and getter louder through a wider range of frequencies.hth.

They aren't even in the same category - the XXX has nearly 50% more linear displacement and costs a good deal more because you get more out of it.

If you have heard both of these subs, why are you asking what will sound better. ESPECIALLY if you have heard 1 of what you have and it was louder then 1 XXX. Obviously you would think 2 16ov2's would be louder. I personally would go with the XXX, just my opinion.

Agreed. Like jlaine said, the XXX simply has gobs more linear displacement potential.

that's actually pretty funny, considering i'm not guessing like you guys but have heard both set ups everyday.Not saying the xxx doesn't have more potential but off 1200 rms or less it's doesn't get as loud. Like i said my 16ov2 gets louder than my old e15a flat cone off the same amp and in the same box.The e15a has 29.1 mm xmax, so you do the math.too many of you guys have the xmax boner when like many have said before in car tells all.So to the poster you can take advice from someone who listens to both subs everyday or people with a xmax boner who prefer to guess.You guys really crack me uy.If i haven't heard both subs i trully would not lead anyone in the wrong directions by guessing.Theres even a guy at icix that hit 146.9 on the tl to music with two 16ov2's and 1400 rms.But what do i know, go with the xxx. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif hth

p.s. the tantrum is 1400 and the crossfire is 1300. I feel sorry for guys who look for advice on boards and people jump on a specific woofer without hearing other subs involved.Like i said it doesn't make sense to take my advice, listen to these guys the xxx is "god like".just for the record i like the xxx a lot but right now mines seems louder.

Alright, lemme put it this way, I used to have 2 audiobahn 400w rms 12's in a ported box, would 1 16ov.2 outperform both of those in loudness as well as sq?
