eD 16Ov.2 or RE XXX?

that's actually pretty funny, considering i'm not guessing like you guys but have heard both set ups everyday.Not saying the xxx doesn't have more potential but off 1200 rms or less it's doesn't get as loud. Like i said my 16ov2 gets louder than my old e15a flat cone off the same amp and in the same box.The e15a has 29.1 mm xmax, so you do the math.too many of you guys have the xmax boner when like many have said before in car tells all.So to the poster you can take advice from someone who listens to both subs everyday or people with a xmax boner who prefer to guess.You guys really crack me uy.If i haven't heard both subs i trully would not lead anyone in the wrong directions by guessing.Theres even a guy at icix that hit 146.9 on the tl to music with two 16ov2's and 1400 rms.But what do i know, go with the xxx. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif hth
p.s. the tantrum is 1400 and the crossfire is 1300. I feel sorry for guys who look for advice on boards and people jump on a specific woofer without hearing other subs involved.Like i said it doesn't make sense to take my advice, listen to these guys the xxx is "god like".just for the record i like the xxx a lot but right now mines seems louder.

1) Did you audition an eD 16ov2 before you made YOUR purchase? Sure you did. Kinda puts your bandwagon comments in a different light doesn't it?

2) There is no 'guessing' involved in comparing specs, unless the specs are inaccurate. If you think jlaine is simply basing his comment off internet bandwagons, I suggest you do a little more reasearch into his background.

The XXX is a pretty beafy sub when it comes to SPL. It can pound the shit outta most subs in its class, while sacrificing SQ minimally.

Although it does take quite a bit more power to reach its full potential.

my point is this, the xxx doesn't shine off 1200 rms, it shines off 1500-2500 rms. Therefore it doesn't mean its the loudest sub off any wattage. Just for the record i know exactly who jlaine is, look around i'm not new to car audio forums.I also am not implying that i know as much or evn half as much as jlaine.What i do know is that i have a 16ov2 and my friend has a xxx 15 and my set up is louder.i will not even continue this conversation after this post because i can't argue with physics.You guys really make me laugh though, and to the guy that posted this again, i trully can say i listen to both subs EVERYDAY how many others who posted can say that.I'm not trying to disrespect anybody here i just know what i hear daily, and i comment on it, therefore trying to help others and steer them in the right direction.I obviously can't win this arguement so i hope everyone enjoys there sytems and have a great week, bass is fun, let's not take that away from anybody. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/bigwave.gif.16324171cad2db62cf4f16568b038478.gif

Being that i owned an XXX, and my buddy has a 16.ov, i think i have alittle room to comment, the OV is indeed a nice all around sub, we even put my 15'' XXX in the OV's recommend ported box the XXX was a bit more powerful not extremely too much more louder or powerful but you could tell, now if the XXX was in its recommended box, i think we could have a clear winner. As far as power i was giving my sub 1500w while he was giving his 600, id take the 0v if you have under 1200-1000w,and the OV is nicely priced as well. But the XXX is an all around beefier sub, which i personally thought had better SQ, definatley at high volume, XXX was the clear SQ winner IMHO

Look man, Im not trying to say your opinion or your experience is wrong. But I am saying your one comparison, your system versus your friend's system, really doesn't prove anything beyond YOUR system is louder than HIS. It certainly does not prove physics wrong in that a sub with more displacement potential can and will get louder. You never specifically debate that issue, you just skirt around it with vague references to xmax boners and bandwagon reasoning.
