eclipse problem

I decided to switch out my alpine cda-9825 with my dad's eclipse cd3402. I took the alpine out of the dash of my pathfinder and plugged the eclipse into the exact same wires as the alpine was plugged into. I reconnected my battery terminal and the eclipse came on. I didn't have the key in the ignition. Some weird error message came up and the unit wont turn off. When i start the car the error message remains and it doesn't play any music. When i turn the car off even with the key out of the ignition it stays on.

I reconnected my alpine into the same wires and it works perfectly. I don't understand the problem. What could be causing this?
