Eclipse cd7000 is here...

Isnt the animation of the navi display sick! hehe..
Man, one day.....one day.... I'll go crazy and import one of those Sound Monitors
Keep looking on that sight, its just **** sick. 4 disc in dash DVD changer, plus built in hard drive, plus the 3D mapping on one of the units. Also most of the features of the CD7000 sound processor.

http://www.fujitsu-ten.co.jp/eclipse/navi/avn8805hd/index.html

Its showing 330,000 yen, which is $2800 bucks (not a crazy amount more than a AVN7000)

had a chance to play around with one of these a few weeks ago local CC got some in so i went down to check them out thinking i might switch from my 8445 .

the first thing i noticed about the deck was the first thing i didnt like .. and thats the face . i will admit the 8445 and 8455 got the same reaction from alot of people but the 7000's face felt dare i say.... lower quality than i expected from eclipse not the buttons mind you but the face itself not really crappy just not what i expected . im also not into the one button controls the world thing i like having my controls seperated somewhat like the dual knobs on my 8445

that bieng said it sounded as high quality as expected ( they had a whole eclipse demo set up)had all the bells and whistles you would expect and has a nicer screen.

I don't have too much experience with previous Eclipse decks. I've played with one 8455, and it did seem to be built very solidly. The 7000 (which I have now) seems to have nearly equal quality; it feels solid overall. But I know what you mean with your complaints also. The 5-way control is definitely my least favorite thing about it, it took some seroius getting-used-to and I'm still having a hard time getting it to do one thing instead of another once in while. The prest buttons also seem a little messy.

The worst part about this deck for me is that, coming from a 9835, it gains a few features and definitly some SQ improvement, but the Alpine had a few more logical features and yes, probably a slightly better build quality (except for the grinding noise when the faceplate moved). Example: Why does the Eclipse, in 2006, not have a dedicated pause/play button, which Alpine has had for years? I know I can pause with "3" while listening to CDs in the unit, but strangely this doesn't work for CDs in the changer. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/waycrazy.gif.f4a380c3f94043939fd369defd9e6be2.gif Another example is the screen. The quality is up to snuff with the biolite, and better in some regards due to the color, but the font Eclipse chose is horrible for readability (or maybe just because I'm used to the biolite font, which was the easiest to read I've ever seen).

I'm sure after a short while longer, I'll learn to forget about these quirks and enjoy the HU for what it is instead of being aggrivated over what it lacks.

While I'm at it, I forgot something. Another example of stupid logic:

When a CD is in the HU slot, a small "In" logo with a CD appears in the bottom left corner of the screen, which is also where the volume displays when you raise/lower it. Whoever laid it all out didn't have the foresight to move the volume display so that it doesn't appear directly over the disc-in logo, because basically, if there's a disc in the HU and you change the volume, you can't read the volume level for sh*t unless you want to get really close to the HU, which isn't so easy when you're driving.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif I'm not really that angry, but ****, c'mon people...

i have to agree with you on the "logical" features thing, be glad though my 8445 doesnt pause at all //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif .i went from a premier 840mp to the 8445 and the first thing i missed was the play/pause the second thing i missed was the premiers remote it was speedy had nice features and worked from almost any direction. the eclipse remote is horrible almost useless uber slow volume slow button reaction making going back a track or two tricky in direct sunlight.also the premier had a few nice features for controlling the face plate such as staying open.. closing in the specified time ( had 3 preset times i think) and a few other things . but after owning it for about a year now i gotta say i love it although it took a while for it to grow on me . after i stopped missing the old deck and started learning how to use the new one properly i quickly learned what i got in trade cause hot **** it sounds good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

im sure u will end up loving yours to
