no it wont work, best thing to do is tap into your radi fuse and run it off that. because that is switched which means it will only get power when your key is turned on. best thing to do is go to an auto parts store and get an inline fuse tap and run with that, they should know what it is. it will look like this http://www.nocablezone.com/images/fuse.jpg all you do is plug it and and read the instruction on what fuse to place where, then connect your remote wire to the wire coming out. boom theres your remote wire

its the best route to go when you dont have a remote wire IMO
