earth problem

Hi im a newbie ive put a car stereo and amp in my vw sharan it worked fine and sounded good but now its started making a thud noise from the sub i removed the stereo diconnected power and front speakers just leaving the rca leads to amp connected connected a wire to chassis earth and when i touch it to the stereo cas it makes the same thud noise from sub (the amp was on when i did this) i connect a different stereo do the same test and no thud .

To explain this the best way i can when the amp and sub are connected and powered with nothing connected to it but the rca lads and you touch an earth to the centre pin of rca it makes a thud wich is the same as what it is doing when stereo is earthed,i think it might be crossing the earth to the centre pin of sub out on the car stereo causing this but dont really know and need help.

ps if it is how can i solve this

Earth ground is you chaisis/frame when you are dealing with car audio.

when all is connected up fine and car engine is off i get a bum bum bum bum bum comming threw the sub

when the engine on same sound with music but it dont come threw front speakers if you want any other info on the problem just ask and i will post it thanks for the help guys
