e8v2 box

yes, it should. I have had an 8" sub in my car before. it was just to quite. I took it out after a day. I'm working on a box design for you, ported. it will be a bit small but I think you will like it. build both and see what you think.

i came up with a ported at 0.605 @35

but

Basic Car Audio Electronics keeps saying this....

**ERROR** Check your dimensions. The port is too long to fit inside the enclosure. You may need to use a curved port, less port area or a higher tuning frequency.

my port length is 10.26?

thats witha port diameter of 2. if i change it to 1 then the error goes away

Don't use that, bcae is a great site btw. But you must do some of the math yourself. I haven't found a box design program that works well yet! A 2" port is to small. This box will use a 5.25" x 1" port. It is ~24" long. This makes the box a bit harder to build, but it can be done. I used 1/2" MDF in this design to give more volume in the box. If you can please make the bottom 3/4" Also add a brace in the middle of the box touching the port wall. (i didn't draw it in - sorry I'm tired) I can help with any questions you have, PM me if you want my number.

(Sorry I haven't had any luck with 3D cad.)

And the difference between ported and sealed in this case, on paper. This doesn't include ANY cabin gain.

Its the port. If you haven't started the box yet. I might be able to make an easier to build design. Now that I'm awake! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

can the port go out the side of the box with out being blocked? This would just be at the front right corner of the box.

duh brain fart im understanding the pic now........port could be external if it was top left corner to go over drive train hump

did another quick measurent tonight when i got off work in the dark and i came up wit for another box if it would work better

5.25x10x34 for demensions

if i go over the drivetrain hump

I would see if you can build the port over the drivetrain. It seems it would be easier to construct. I went smaller than I wanted to on the port on the box due to the small box size.

This is an idea. How much room can you use. Can you give me a better idea of the total area? The sub will be about a 1/4" from the port in my design. The driver is offset to allow the motor vent room to breath.

finally got around to building the box. was tuned way to low sub was constantly bottoming out it sounded like and had lots of port noise.

heres better dimensions that i came up with
