looking for a box design for a e8v2 for under the seat of a extra cab silverado. id like to do a ported box. would a upfire or downfire sound better? hoping to have it tuned to 35. amp will be a RF201s if that matters

I can understand that I cant stand riding in a car without some form of system. To me its like only hearing half the song and the half your hearing is muddy and far from crisp and life like. PM Pro_Rabbit (DC Creations)he may help you out as he is a good man tell him that he still owes me $5 (trully) and to use that $5 to create u a design... Show us the design once he is done with it...

What year truck?

I have an 08 and am looking to do something similar, either under seat or sort of a center console for a single 8 (SA-8 or 1508), tuned to 35.

I just made a center console 8 for my mini van. It's only a 150 watt sub, but it sounds great. I have also built a down firing ported box for a 2002 (I think) 2500 HD extended cab. I lost the plans for that box. But if you want to give your max size (HxWxD) I'd see what I can come up with.

heres what i came up with for quick measurents

Height? = 12 Inches

Width? = 20 Inches

Depth1? = 6.5 Inches

Depth2? = 7 Inches

heres what ive found for optimal box sizes

Sealed Box:

0.3 ft^3

Ported Box:

0.60 ft^3 tuned to 35 Hz

Is height? from floor to bottom of the seat? Or, this seems right, from the front of the seat to the back?

also are you set on using the e8? or did you just pick it because it would fit?

no problem, I wish I had the design I did like this before, it sounds like it would work in your truck! I will see what I can do. btw I didn't look up the amp you are using, how much rms power will you be using?

its just a rockford 201s. birthsheet says 278 rms

total of .349cf3 correct?

i believe displacement is .04

so total of .309 after sub is in correct. so that should work? first time building a box myself lol
