So like so many others i'm just starting to graze the surface of SQ installs and am looking for some advice.
I just picked up at 1997 bmw 328is w/ the factory setup (and changer) and am looking (for obvious reasons) to put in a SQ system. I've been following all the back and forth between the Eclipse CD7000/Pioneer 880PRS camps and it sort of seems like it comes down to a matter of opinion. For me i definitely lean towards the 880PRS in terms of features, look, etc. My only problem is that it's silver, and my interior is black. Picky, i know, but let's be honest looks do matter somewhat. For this reason i'm looking at the 980BT (i also use my phone in the car a lot and the BT feature is really attractive to me). Seems to be very similar to the 880PRS, just w/o the L/R EQs.
Would love to open another pandora's box here and ask opinions on this choice - i'm also open to other HU suggestions (in terms of look i definitely feel less is more - i have to bite the bullet to accept the color display on the 980).
On a separate note (not necessarily appropriate to the HU threads) does anyone have an E36 they've put a SQ system in? Would love input as to amps/speakers and locations since the factory equipment is a little bizarre. Links to other threads are welcome if this has been gone over before.
