has anyone tried it?

or what do u think would happen if i did a "dynamat enclsoure" behind the speakers?

not anything crazy just wrap the basket with dynamat so it would be sealed up instead of free air in the trunk?

Stupid idea. Dynamat is a sound deadner. it is use to dampen the effects of soundwaves to eliminate flex and un wanted resignating sounds.

If your trying to make it louder get somoe foam baffles and add a litle poylfil. they give the 6x9 it's own enclosure You can add dynamat to the rear deck panel to eliminat the rattled then add the foam baffles then add polyfil, then instan speaker. it should sound awesome... what speakers are you running?

It'd probably be too small and cause heat dissipation issues if it were wrapped too tightly(like just wrapped around the back of the motor or something). You can use some thin MDF though.
hmm yeah, you make a point. ive never tried it. but i was contemplating it. simply because i was thinking about my door speakers and how bad they say the door locations are for speakers. so i thought "what if i cover up the back of the speaker, just the whole basket/motor.." and since i cant really make an enclosure in my door i thought i could just wrap dynamat around them and drill them in. ..same for 6x9's. but was a long shot i guess

no particular speaker.. just for future referance. i was planning on possibly doing it, sounded dumb.. but possibly clever. so i thought id see if anyone by any chance had done it.. but btw man, ive heard that adding dynamat into a speakers enclosure is supposed to help out a lot. never tried it myself, so i cant say it is good or makes a differance, but just what i read once (cant remember where exactly). thanks for the input.

do either of you guys know if adding a small enclosure to speakers would make them sound better than if i just let them "free air" in my trunk or doors?
