How do you guys blow these things????!!!! I have to find the photos of my buddy's OLD comps. These things have been through hell and back 3 times and they still WANG! They've got more silicone on them than Pam Anderson. I'm talking oldschool, gold Kicker emblazoned comps, circa early 90s.

people blow them becuase the crank every knob on there amp. im sure subs love distorted votlage, hi freq and tones of bass boost.

hey but now that i think about it my sub didnt even smoke does a sub have to smoke to be blown? but even though it locked up isnt that another form of a blown speaker?

subs dont need to smoke to blow. only when u realy blow they will, like wall socket blown. if the cone is seized or dosnt move its blown! your sub is blown, u coulda got a "recone" but that involves sending back to kicker and waiting and paying. im sure your better off just gettin some new gear, and make sure u get a pro help ya set the gains on the amp

It doesnt necessarily have to smoke. It generally will have a nasty smell though.
