Ok sorry I was in class. The sub I have is an 18 recone from teampsi with the cast 12 spoke basket and a baby motor. The motor is a Rockford double slug. The coils are dual 1s. I have it ony only 300watts to break it in. Then I'll prolly go to 1100 rms at 2 ohm.

Bologna and cheese FTW. However, I do like PB&J as long as it's creamy peanut butter with grape jelly. I guess I'm still a little kid. That's probably why I have Kicker subs too... I'll grow up one day...

Oh, by the way, Mike, those speaker baffles are working out superbly. Thanks again. If only my Focals weren't 5.25s... They maybe I could get more midbass out of them.

Very true. Volume, on the other hand, is by no means subjective. It can be scientifically measured. Although SQ can also be measured to an extent (RTA), not everyone likes a perfectly flat response curve. Also, not every perfectly flat response curve is achieved with speakers that sound good. Again, volume is volume, whether it's with crappy speakers or good speakers. Some speakers just sound better going loud than others. If you're going to argue who's louder, meter it to prove it.

Although my sarcasm meter may have malfunctioned, you can take that statement and make it true. If he thinks it sounds good, then to him, it sounds good. Like you said (and it's been said many times before), SQ is completely subjective. He'll think that sounds good until he hears something else to which he can compare his junk. He may already have heard some stuff that sounds better than what he's got and may be in denial. He'll admit it eventually, if this is the case. My point is, which I realize I wasn't very good at getting to, his "system" can subjectively sound great to him and obviously no one else.
