Dual Amp set-up

Hey guys,

I am currently running an Alpine F-24 (360W max) to (4) polk db570. I just purchased a Kicker kx 200.2 and a JL 12w3d2 (dual 2ohm). My question is..

1. Can I jump a 4AWG power lead, 4AWG ground and a remote turn on from the Alpine to the Kicker (they will be about 12in. apart). Then I would run RCA's from the Alpine to the kicker (the sub would be wired to the Kicker)

2. The sub is wired for 4ohm, how do I make the connection (speaker wire (12AWG)) on the amp (kicker)?

Thanks in advance.

You might be better off using a distrobution block for all that. It would give you a cleaner looking install and if something does go wrong you could identify it easily and fix it. If your ALpine has a RCA out then yes you could and should use that. Does your HU not have another set of preouts? What kind of Kicker is that? A 1200.1 or 200.1?

It's a kicker kx200.2 (I guess it will have to be bridged to 200W@4ohms) the Pioneer HU I am currently running only has one set of preamp outs.

Yes it will have to be bridged at 4ohms.

But I would strongly consider a 4gauge distro block and have it run 2 8's out to the amps. Same for the ground. Just remember to fuse your power wire whenever you reduce the gauge size. This will help in determing which amp is causing a problem should one arise.
