14.4 volts? You will hardly ever see 14.4 volts in a auto. More like 13.6 to 13.8. Makes a difference. If you want a true amp. by one that rated at 12.6V. A 600 watt amp rated @12.6V will give you more power than a 600 watt amp rated @ 14.4V

unfortunately, most car audio manufactures rate at 14 V...

it makes tehm look better...

plus that is what they say you SHOULD have...

more likely for single alt/battery systems is 12 V or something around there...

Yes. but wouldn't it be nice if all car audio manu. were honest? That would stop the less experienced ones from being sucker'd into the famous "$99 2,000 watt amp" It's funny, I carry all kind of brands in my store and each rep. makes a comment about how other companies get the ratings on their equip.

lol tell me about it..

i was talking to this guy a few montsh back who was going to be the exclusive distributer for Zapco in the mid 90's (in canada anyways) that fell thru, but hes still a HUGE zapco fan, (thats where i got my amp) and was *****ing at me as to why i should buy hsi old *** Zapco 1000 watt amp instead of a JBL 1200.1 for 'just a few hundered more" lol.

would have been nice to do, but i doubt i still ahve th eguys number to see if he still ahs it...
