i want to install a aftermarket deck in my 98 expedition but it has the mach premium sound system.i dony want to use the factory amp, just power my highs and mids of the deck and run a sub and amp in the back of the truck. how do i bypass the factory amp and wire my highs and mids to my deck, i think i can handle the subs. please help.

Well if you wire you mids & Highs to your deck and add a sub that is amplified then your subs will over power you mids & Highs. I would suggest using a wiring harness to keep the factory amp on the mids and highs and run rca's for the sub. But if you choose still to bybass the factory amp, I would advise you to run new speaker wires to your mids & Highs. Also, are the mids & highs factory or aftermarket?

If you plan to update your mids & highs soon then I would go ahead and run new wires, if not just leave the speakers runnig of the factory amp. Unless your headunit supplies more power than you amp.
