ok my boy has a problem, he bought two 12 " L7's off one of my friends. he has a crap amp for the time being (Boss R545 or R745, its a two channel). nonetheless the amp isnt that good. now when he first had it installed it was hittin nice, but not to the full potential that the subs can handle.

2 days ago, his 8 inch pioneer sub blew, dont kno how, but theres a finger sized hole in the cone. he had the guy check it out and the guy did somethin with the wiring, but he knows what hes doing (apparently not but still). my boy doesnt kno but for some reason theyr not hitting no where near as hard.

when i checked the wiring, everything seemed perfectly fine, just the subs werent thumpin with power. now i dunno if the amp blew, but i doubt thats the problem. when he first bought them and got them installed i saw that one of the L7's was a dual 4 ohm, and the other was a dual 2 ohm.

now call me stupid if u want, but logically, if u wire two subs with different resistance the same way wouldnt one push with less resistance? the guys told me it would be fine, but i had my doubts n now the subs arent hittin and it seems like the sub is rattling just a big, honestly its either blown or the wiring is messed up, but if someone could tell me if my "logic" is right and give me a way to fix this lil problem id be really greatful.

Well if the amp blew the green protection light would come on, so It's probably not that.

And yeah, one would be recieving more power then the other! Obviously the guy who had this setup before him didn't know what he was doin'. But to be honest I would get Jack_frost on this cause he is really good with all of this stuff!

Unless there is a certain way to wire them which I'm pretty sure there isn't but check out this...http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/S-AEoja5Xc5FT/learningcenter/car/subwoofers_wiring.html

Check to see the way they wired them by comparing it to one of those diagrams there. It'll help you out alot. Then figure out what the amp does power wise at 1, 2, or 4 ohms. Which I'm guessin' that amp isn't 1ohm stable. Then just re-wire it the way they need to be done.
