I got to test it a bit today… here are the results.
2 tests one in my studio and the other in my car.
Music,
Pink Floyd – Pulse Live (my go to for tuning, I know every beat in every song)
P Diddy – Diddy Rock & Akon – I Wanna Love You (These are my go to hip=hop songs right now, very even punchy bass @ 32-38Hz
Studio:
I connect the box to my carver 1500 watt PA amp and crossed it over @ 50 Hz. The high came from a set of active monitor speakers.
The box was loud, but it since it was in open space (about a 12x 20 ft room with 8ft ceiling) I really could hear it “hit” unless I had my head on the floor or walls. It did move a lot of air and vibrated everything that wasn’t bolted down.
Then,
I had to test it in the car:
The setup was not ideal. I had my high end running off an alpine deck and the box running off a saz-1500 amp.
I set the amp about half gain on both the bass boost and gain control, with the low pass crossover @ 75 Hz and subsonic @ 15Hz.
O My god!! At listening level on my highs ~volume 20 on the desk (couldn’t turn it up much higher because the high even would distort to much and I don’t want to blow the highs before I sell the car do I?) the box sounded amazing. Very accurate and deep, it really sounded like I put one high power 15” driver in the back… I was very impressed.
Now I am considering doing a full test buy installing 2 amps, 1 for the box and one for the highs and tuning it to see want the design can really do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
We will see, really depends on if someone comes get the vehicle soon ( I have a couple offers right now)
