Alright guys what approaches do you take when you have a nice system in a car/truck and have to drop it off at say a dealership or something to get worked on.

Reason I ask is because i picked mine up last night and now Ive got a weird mechanical noise coming from one of my door speakers. My eq was fucked with.

I have a few shops that I would/do trust. I still take pictures/video of everything though to show its condition and settings. I have had to send out bills for a repairs in the past because of things being messed with. I even had a shop mess with one of my bagged trucks and they emptied a nitrogen bottle they used it so much. The bad part was I had it at a height that they did not need to adjust it. Now I lock my switches no matter where it goes. I do the same with my system some times as well. Just not as often anymore.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO if u can not be there while it is being fixed find some other place u can find them I assure you. I refuse to leave me car with anyone u come back after getting ur brakes changed and ur motor is knocking. U turn on ur radio and smoke pours from your amps all arounf bad idea!!!!!!

Time is money, and I made more money in the time it took them to fix than the actual bill cost.

Take the face of radio out?
This is not possible with mine, Double din.

And pro-rabbit thats complete bullshit Id be pissed. Did they pay to refill nitrogen?

Not a worry for me cause the guy who works on my car is really into systems, oh wait I do all my own work on my cars, that explains it.

However if I was going to drop off my car somewhere I would prob pull the fuse off the main power to the amps.

They paid for much more after everything was said and done.

I do most of my own repairs, wel just about everything including oil/shocks /brakes ,just about everything. If it has to stay overnight, the fuse under the hood gets pulled, and the fuses at my dist blocks/HUface plate.Yet, all my stuff is usually put away taken out,so nothing is available to tamper with.If its something that takes that day to do..I stand, and watch my vehicle even outside the bay.Its prob ***** to the mechanic having me watch him, but at least he knows Im watching his a$$ and in the back of his mind not knowing what I saw or not, and i even question at times, and let them know im watching. But ya,at a dealership?I dont go there, due to the outragious prices.Oil change there is like $60 compared to Pepboys $40, if im feeling lazy:D

Does ur time pay enough to buy a new motor amps and subs??? If so drop is off. If not then I suggest u stay I am willing to miss a 100 at wrk then to have to pay 1000 to repair the damage that they did. Have fun proving that the damnage was caused by them. SEe that sign above the desk we are not resposible for items left iin car. No what that means you better take ur stuff out or you dnt have a legal foot to stand on.

I just pull the fuse by the battery.

If they have to mess around in a certain area i'll pull said equipment. I know how it's put in and the correct way to remove it. Luckily I do most repairs myself. If I can't, I send it to a close friend that does side work. So I rarely have to take it in somewhere.
