downloading off the internet?

well, i know there are a lot of people you do AND DONT so im not here to debate on the topic. just i had a question on it. now, since its illegal, is there anyway of getting caught REALISTICALLY if you are downloading from an American program OUTSIDE of the U.S ?? or for that matter, even in the U.S ??

i mean, what if someone is using say a program and is in Asia or somewhere?? how in the heck could they get caught using it???

i used to download a bit before , but not much now. just curious thx

Technically, they probably could go after you if they felt like it (Skylarov v. US) but it's unlikely.

you can get cought on about anything, except private sites... unless they work their way in(last bust they had a 3yr sting going on) but as long as you dont upload/share the files you should be ok, from my expience that is how they catch you

newsgroups, you buy a account with usenet or someting(so the files are hosted longer) get a program if you want to be lazy, like newzbin. then someone uploads files in rar fomat, fragmented. you download all the rar's to one folder and extract them and you have your file...

well theres more to it then that, like you only pay so you have more download limits. If you use your isps you only get like a couple gigs a month, if you pay you can get unlimited. After downloading all files you have to get parity files to repair all the files and so on....

IMO, they wont go after if you dont have a lot of songs, but realistically, id say 1000+ is where they go, from what I have seen.
