downfiring a sub in a trunk car

Just curious as to what this would be like. I can't fit a sub much larger than a 12 in my trunk due to to a rear deck extending down into the trunk. However, if i had a downfire box, as long as the depth of the sub was less than 9-10 inches, it should work. however, i wanted to know if it would even be worth it. I know downfire is great for HT, but what about cars? Which way should the port face?

Don't forget to check if your sub is built for downfiring, if not, it can start to sag.

Are you being sarcastic, because I have never heard of that before. I just got a set of old school hx2 10's that was in a downfiring box which must have been in that position for a while since they are absolutely mint for OS subs.

If you have any sort of high build quality sub down firing will not make your sub sag. I have a down fire box for my wrangler. i havent gotten the subs yet but from previous expirience with other cars i think subs sound better like that for some reason. You can face the port where ever you want too.

you'll definitely get that rumble low bass if u do.

true,

you get more "feel" out of the subs since they are more or less forcing air towars the floor
