Ok so my box is around 6.5 to 7.0 cuft and i am going to mount my 18'' Fi Bl on top and to the right of the box.....the box is tunned to 35hz....my question is should i do a double baffle for the top or just brace it with dowels really well?? the box is 51'' long..... 19'' tall.....and 19'' wide....(from the side)

do double baffle...youll need it...i did double baffle with my Q top mounted... and make sure you secure your box down cause if not the sub is gonna make that thing jump all over the place

Since he started it......I need some good bracing ideas besides double baffle for a truck I plan on constructing....Double angled baffle wouldnt be fun and would take too much from internal volume.....

The 2x2's does seem like a good idea tho

aparently some people only believe in using mdf for thier boxes....as far as other bracing alternatives, as far as spl and comp boxes go, i have used 2x2's across the inside of the long panels for support, 1" dowels to stretch arcoss the box to two opposite pannels and, complete inner baffels with holes cut in them, triangular pieces in the corners, i have personally not used this but work quite well, 1/4" threaded rod stretching across to oposite pannels and washer and nut on the inside and outside. there are all sorts of bracing methods that work well, be creative....not only mdf is aloud in boxes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

a double baffle is really all you need. All that mess you put inside the box will just create issues. IF anything run steal rod through but its really not necessary in your case.

ok thanks! Ill try the 2x2's and then the 45's in each corner...along with dowels in the middle... for the 2x2's where exaclty do i place them?? thanks alot
i would put them along the edges of the sub. (imagine if the mdf wasn't there the 2x2's would support it) the other thing to remember is anything you put in the box you need to account for it's displacement. not quite sure of the intentions of this box, but if it's for daily listening, then just do the 2x2's or a double baffle, the rest would be unecessary.
