door speaker problem

I am having a problem with my door speaker. I have pioneer TS-A1682R. They can handle 280 watts max, and I have a Kenwood KAC-8403 powering them. The problem is, if I turn it up all the way some times one of the front speakers will start to smoke. But, they still sound good. I took them out and looked at them and checked the wiring and everything looks good. The only thing I could think of is maybe moisture is getting to them and has ruined them but not visibley. They are not that old and Im not over powering them so I don't have any other ideas. Do I just need to replace them?

It looks to be that there rms on the speakers is 50 watts while you are giving it a 60 watt rms signal what are your gains set at because if your sending it dirty power (clipping or distortian) versus clean power (clear no distorion) then that is bad. Could you please elaberate on what you mean by clean versus dirty power? Is that something I would be able to hear the difference in? If so, the sound is not ditorted at all as far as I can hear. And I think I have the gain all the way up.

Gain all the way up is bad! Set your gains correctly and hopefully you can salvage your speakers. The gain is not a volume knob!

get a dmm and measure your coils to see how much your fried em....they dont have much longer
