Door Speaker Dilemma!!

Im having a lil problem deciding on what im going to run in the doors of my 04 Ford Crown Victoria. I settled on the Rainbow CMX 265s (thanks to 3.5Max6spd;)), but Im also considering the CMX 465s as well. The only problem is my stock opening ( which is a 5x7 by the way) wont allow enough room for two 6.5 mids. Here is a few pics of my door

I had a few Ideas to get this completed. I could just install one mid in the stock opening with a baffle, and the other mid on the door panel itself, but I here thats not good for midbass.

Another idea I had was to make a baffle for that large hole in the rear part of the doors and install the second midbass there, then cut a opening about the same size as the stock one in the door panel so that the output can get out and cover it with some gray grill cloth.

I also just thought about making a new baffle for both speakers on the bottom of the door panel with a older Crown Vic panel something like this but without all the speakers lol

My question is it anyway to make this happen? Should I forget about doing the CMX 465 and just run the CMX 265s? I really wanted to run the duel midbass setup but I wanted to do it correctly.

Either way, I plan on completly deading the doors and sealing all those holes.

Any help or advice or push in either direction is greatly apperciated, thanks!!

You don't want the 2nd mid at the back of the door panel as it would aim right into the seat and/or you.

I'd see about doing a panel along the bottom to house them both right next to each other. Might be time to break out some fiberglass or remove the front of the map pocket and do something like I did with wood, or MDF covered in carpet.

I thought about that too, I dont think I want that extra mid that close to me. That last pic is of a older Crown Vic 99 I believe, and the door panels are different. The map pocket is not molded into the panel like it is on my car, its just a flap of fabric that can be removed.

Yours can be removed also with a die grinder, jig saw, or whatever. Make an MDF panel and attach pieces around the perimeter about 2" tall, so you can attach it from the back side of the panel and have your driver depth. Cover with carpet or vinyl and it'll look pretty nice.

Mine is pretty much exactly that way with a few extra self tapping screws to hold the panel TIGHT to the door.

BTW...that stock speaker set up SUCKS!!!! LOL Grill looks about right for a 3 1/2" at best....

lol it does my friend, however alot of sound does get out from that opening. I have had several different mid and highs setups in the car, and play fairly loud from that locations.

Def is not the best for proper imagin, but for a daily driver it works.
