if I wanted to squeeze a speaker like this that has such heavy bass in my back door, what kind of modifications would yall say are neccessary and which ones would just be expected of this setup(sound deadening etc)?

i doubt that those vibe speakers will produce bass like you expect. Like I told another guy. If your going to mod it, do it right. Put a 7" or 8" shallow mount midbass with its own dedicated amp and you will be happy. The mounting depth on them are 3" and bellow. I have some that are 2 6/16 mounting depth. Plus, you should keep the rears empty and keep the focous on the front stage
