Here's another semi-funny story:

About a month ago my cousin and I are talkin about systems, etc etc and after hearing mine he says he has a buddy "with 2 of those brand new kicker comp vr's that aren't even out on the market yet" and that they're so loud they make wax come out of your ears!!-Apparently his buddy went into a store threw $700 on the counter and said: "give me the loudest system you got" so to verify that theyr'e comp vr's or my cousin is confused and talking about comp vx's I ask what color are they, silver w/red in the middle, dark grey etc etc and he says "no, they're all black with yellow in the middle" (regular kicker comps) lol, after hearing that I just said "Yeah, I bet it is loud" rolled my eyes and walked away.

my gf's brother just got a polk momo sub. the silver one in the prefab box that has the curved plexi on the back side. he wanted to hook it up to my amp and see how it sounds. piece of crap. it didn't sound too bad i guess, but it was not loud and the woofer, when turned up, hit the speaker grill that comes with the box.

Lol, My cousin thinks that he knows everything about car audio lol with a box that made for 2 15's with like 3ft^3 for each sub and tuned to idk what and then later on he cuts two holes in the side of the box and adds two more 15's and I was like oh that was very ummm professional and hes running all of them off an Xplod amp lol

I keep my goldline 180 hand held SPL meter with me at all times for the explicit purpose of punking out people who come up to me and say their stereo puts up outragously high numbers with substandard equipment. I remember this guy I used to work with was talking about this 18" Kicker he had just got installed by someone and a 1000 watt amp. I went out during our break and sat in the car while he turned it up. Sounded like mid-bass...

Then I played my modest system, which even at only 400 watts sounds good, and I think he was a little sad after that.

It's like, I don't even feel like correcting people anymore because it takes too long and they probably won't listen...

i don't go to church either. i'm actually atheist, but i can't stand people who don't respect others personal beliefs. it's funny how liberals, partiers and stoners whine about others being closed minded but never turn the mirror around. maybe that's not you, i just got that impression from your post.
