So after church tonight we were just standing around the ping pong table, and this guy starts talking about his single 10" that he had that was louder than ANYONE. So I start asking him about it and he states the following:

-It costs 3,000 dollars

-Can't buy it in U.S.

-Broke one of his windows. With the volume on 8!

-It's a Rockford Fosgate Team RF. Yeah, Team RF was the model... lol

-He beat some guy in a competition who had 4 JL Audio 15's...

-His box cost $750 and had 4 "chambers". Whatever that means, but he said it made it beat harder...

So I'm calling BS in my head the whole time, but everyone else was just in shock and awe... I wanted to call him out so bad but I really didn't feel like arguing...

Doesn't just make you giggle inside when someones starts bragging about something like this, not knowing that someone who is listening knows a whole lot more about car audio than they do and sees right through it...?

Well this guy is pretty strong and has a bad temper... I mean I don't think it would have evolved into a fist fight, but like I said no matter what I said he wouldn't have backed off his story so I figured I'd jusat let him talk...

just today at school, a kid was telling me how hard his system wanged. I just bought two 8" kicker CVR's to screw around with, and he was telling me about the 1 8" CVR he had in his truck, how its in "a huge sealed box" and how cool it was to see his truck vibrating from it.

*sigh*

im kinda glad kids are starting to come to me for questions on stereos instead of building 3cu ft sealed enclosures for 8" subs and listening to vibrations, so i can at least point them in somewhat of the right direction. There should be a high school class for common intelligence

Lol, I see this all the time. You should have called him out on it

"I bridged the amp like 4 times so it's puttin out like 3 times the power"

"bigger fuses let more watts get to your subs"

"my amp was pullin too many watts and killed my alternator"

"I plugged the ports half way up cause I don't have enough power to push the subs right"

I realize some of this comes from being new to the hobby and I always try to point them in the right direction but at times I have to bite my lip to keep from telling these little 16 year olds w/mommy and daddys checkbooks off, lol

I was talking to this girl and she said her dads shop was building a big *** system for one of the san diego chargers. She said he cant turn it up all the way or it will blow out his windows.

I just went ummmm well thats really hardcore he must have around 7 alternators

all you gotta do is sit them in your car.. Thats one of the greatest feelings. Sitting someone in your car who talks about how badass their shitty system is and then seeing the look on their face when the bass hits.

The kid w/the 4 12's was showin me his system and asked to hear mine so I turned mine up and he could see my back wall/glass flexing and see the excursion etc etc and then said "yeah but you put them in a trunk like mine and they won't sound that good"

I wanted to say "no-i put them in a BOX like yours and they won't sound this good", lol

He bought the same dvd player as me a couple weeks ago and I saw him on campus and said hey as i passed by and he sings "Hahahaha my system is better than yours!" And he wasn't joking either, but I let it slide once again.....
