This is my 2007 Mazda CX-7 that I'm building to compete in USACi SQ shows in Mexico and the USA.

I'm part of Team Hybrids, the competition brand of Hybrid Audio Technologies founded by Scott Buwalda that sells some of the best speakers in the world.

This is my CX-7.

The Head Unit is an Alpine W205.

The music travels to the back via a fiber optic cable and also via Ai-Net cable, where it's processed in an Alpine H701, and sent to five JL Audio amplifiers hidden under a false floor.

The front stage is handled by a HAT Legatia L831-3 set. The L8's are on the doors, the L3's on the kick panels and the L1's on the a pillars, all hidden with speaker cloth.

That's it for now.

Lots of changes in the near future.

If you would like to see the install log, it's here: http://www.buwaldahybrids.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2902

First! Had to say it,lol!
Nice install and man I for one would love to listen to that. Very impressed! I betcha you get a smile from ear to ear everytime you turn that on.

Enjoy, as I am sure you do.
Thanks.

If we are ever close, don't hesitate to ask. I'm all open doors.

Yes, I do get a smile every time I turn it on.

And more because I did everything myself.

Jorge.

I do like your wires. With the techflex or whatever covering them. But where can I get those red sleeves that say 12V?
Yes, it's Techflex.

The "red sleeves" are colored heatshink.

I used it to "color code" everything.

Red for 12v and positive, Black for ground and negative, then each speaker wire cable has a different color.

Here's a picture off all the speaker wire terminations. Each one is techflexed, color coded, labeled, etc.

On top of the colored heatshrink I put a label and covered all with clear heatshrink.

You can get a labeler for under $20 at any office supplies store.

I used the one at the bottom of the picture.

Awesome ride and a good guy. I wish I had the patience and skill to do everything myself. It's be nice to use the extra money on gear instead of install work too.

Thanks for your words, Beerdrnkr.

I didn't had the skills to do it a year ago, but thanks to a lot of car audio forum reading I learned, believe it or not.

And $$$$$ was my main motivation. Like you, I would rather spend the $$$$$ in better equipment than pay another guy to try and do what I want.

My actual work has nothing to do with car audio.

This is a hobby for me.

It actually isn't to hard if you really get into it.

If I can help you or anyone in any way, let me know.

Jorge.

Yeah I hear ya about doing it yourself. I got in a rut having other people put stuff in my ride and screwing it up and having to take it back to fix it or them knicking up stuff with a scratch there or them breaking something and never replacing it like they say they would. Enough of that, I am going back to installing everything myself, which I used to do, just have a bad back from packing on pounds and other stoopid shit. Have lost some weight and feel a little better. Going to gut my car in the next couple of weeks and laying down some serious sound deadener. Well about 150sqft of it, lol! Of course this will be a long process as this is my everyday car. Oh well, patience will be a virtue. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Not to mention how much dollars we save doing it ourselves.

about 150sqft of it, lol!
Only 150 sqft:laugh:

That's going to be fun.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Just imagine how much $$$$$ you are saving when you are doing it, to ease the pain.

Jorge.

i hope you have some fans to cool off those amps..... its going to get hot awful quick under there without a way to disapate the heat build up
