Dogs

True, but with that degree you also won't be able to find a profession when you graduate, so how are you planning on feeding it?

i have owned 2 american staffordshire pits and they were by far my favorite dogs. both males one was 115lbs other was 94lbs. very playful and obedient. all they want to do is please their owner. so socialize them when young, take your time to train them right and dont be dik and they will be good dogs. my next dog is going to ba a cane corso as i heard they are very similiar in temperment

I have a american staffordshire aka pitbull

if you train them right they can be very gentle dogs my baby sister crawls around the house with the dog pulls on his tail and ears and theres never been a problem

they need to be excercised daily though or else all there energy will get pent up and they'll take there energy out doing whatever they can

i go for runs nearly everyday with my dog butter and if im too tired ill hop on my skateboard and have him pull me and he'll get tired quicker so i get to go back home quicker

overall great active dogs good with people can get rowdyif close to another rowdy dog

they def need to unwind through out the day but that was my favorite thing about them. you will surely run out of energy before they do. my dogs basically had my whole yard as a playground. but my buddy also had a pit that wasnt so well behaved and would try to bark and growl at my dogs. they wouldnt give that dog the time of day and rarely growled back. its all in the training. p.s. never hit these dogs it doesnt phaze them. a simple pinch behind the front shoulder will work miracles and you wont hurt your dog in the long run*hip displasia* if thats even how you spell it lol.

Raising a dog, particularly a puppy while in college in an apartment is tough. I had a bloodhound puppy awhile back and I did a good job at raising him, but with me leaving for class and going to parties once in awhile I felt bad leaving him in my apartment. I gave him away to a nice young family feeling like it would be better for him. Of course, I didn't get him under the best circumstances as I was having personal issues. Giving him away I think may have hurt me worse than keeping him. Just a little advice.

Right now I have 2 dachshunds back at home. I love dachshunds a lot. They would be a good choice if you lived in a small apartment. Some do have separation anxiety though, so if you are gone a lot they might not be the best choice. When I graduate I will probably get another one. Although, I am looking for a Plott Hound, even though my only chance of finding one is if I drive out to the Carolina's. Doberman's and German Shepherds are some more of my personal favorites. Basset's, Scotty's and Corgi's are also up there on my list.

I don't see it as a huge responsibility to take on; of course you're going to put in time and money for training, feeding, and just generally making it a happy dog, but hey - if I stick with a Criminal Justice degree, it's not like I'll be doing any actual schoolwork. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
with that responce you should probably not get a dog. having a dog is a huge responsibility, its almost like having a small child.

If I'm home enough and willing to put in the time to raise it right, I don't see why not. It's not like this is going to be my first dog.
