What do you guys have? What do you want? Best breeds, worst breeds, horror stories, fairy tales, whatever I don't give a f*ck.

Seriously though, I'm starting to look for a breed that'll suit me well while living in college. I don't know if we'll have a house with a yard, or if we'll be in an apartment - I have no idea. What would be a good breed for a smaller indoor setup? Bulldogs are awesome, but I heard they can get messy. What are some of the better smaller and bigger breeds you know of?

Oh, and @mylows10

blue bully breed pits ,the colby's are nice as well
How's shedding on them? And how active are they? Obviously being a bigger breed, they're gonna need quite a bit of room to get their daily exercise in.

shedding isnt bad at all , very active tho ,and strong as heii
How would they compare to a Rott as far as temperament, activity, that sort of thing goes? Or would you not know?

Also been looking into a German Shepherd if we get a big enough place. I heard they shed like crazy, though.

My fav by far are Rotts. I have a siberian husky right now. I like chows. I do not at all like bull dogs.
Why do you like the Rotts? A husky would be something else that I'd love. Have you ever had any behavioral/temperament problems?

Also, if you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for yours?

I have had many breeds throughout the years. Germans, american BD , rott . All I have to say is..

The hell with small breeds. I hate them.. I have owned many and they all ******.

Best breed I have owned are the ones I own now. I own a boxer/lab female and male purebreed boxer. They only bark when they hear a noise that is in the property area. They never dig. They follow commands. They are housebroken and climb in the shower when they need a bath.

AND the best part they protect my kids to the fullest. If I act like I am hitting my kids they will cover them up and attack me "tamely" at first then they will get vicious if I pursue. They protect the house and property like no other. Best part is I dedicated hardly any time training them. Just verbal commands.

Im planning on possibly boxer for my next dog if i dont get another rott or a lab for hunting reasons....

i got a doberman, amazing dogs. smart, strong, intimidating, agile. i also like sheperds but they do shed like crazy. love pits, think my next dog with either be another dobi or a presa. boss has a dogo argintine. pretty sweet dog, dont seem to be the most inteligent tho.

never, not a dime of purchase cost. my dad always had rotts, grew up with them. Hell had one give birth in my bed when I was a kid. loved them very protective, very loyal. chows are not good with little kids but a great guard dogs. been thinking about getting a german shepphard, my brotheres neighbor has new pups.

currently have three dogs, One ambull(123lbs), 2 Boxers(white/78lbs) Fawn(51lbs). Love these dogs but for college the boxers are crazy and my ambull didnt settle down till we got to dogs that more energy than him.
