Does more excursion equal more rattle?

My trunk and rear bumper rattle alot. I'm wondering why mine rattles so much. I know several ppl who have subs and i don't think any of there trunks and bumpers rattle nearly as much as mine. I mean if i park somewhere and get out and leave the subs on and it looks like i have a team of midgets trying to break out of my trunk. And it sounds bad when outside and at full tilt u can hear the rattle inside too. I'm thinking that maybe since my assassins have more excursion than my friends subs (type Es, Kicker CVRs) is why I have more rattle. How much does your trunk rattle? And are there any quick fixes like putting something in the jam where trunk closes? Or do i need sound deadener? Could it just be the song i was playing or the type of music i listen too?

its only gonna get worse until you sound deaden your trunk+stuff

my 2 L7's pound hard as shit and the sheetmetal smacking against the frame + undercarriage+ exhaust+bumper+1/4 panels... everything rattles from the c pillar back... its like im dragging a buncha cans at a wedding outside the car ... but when you roll down the windows if your able to cause that much rattling then the bass pretty much overpowers it if your atleast side by side or ahead of the vehicle (or stopped)

Over a long period of time could anything actually break of fall of? Like the trunk latch or something?

my window fell off the rail so now when i put it up i have to slam it back in place... my interior panels are all loose, trunk sits about an inch higher than it should

hmm don't have so much ****in power goin to your subs, cut it down to maybe 500 watts, i'll never have a 1000 watt system that's to much ****in bass for me.

u have a 2004 and it rattles that much??

sound deaden ur trunk dude, or face the port to the side or somewhere solid, mess around with it ...

my trunk rattles ALOT, hell with some songs it is just insane..., but the bass kinda cover it.... +I have sounddeadening

HAHAHAHA Loser^ you can never have too much power or let alone too much bass.

but as for your rattleing id say throw two layers of mat on the iside of the car, dont worry about the floor and firewall so much but do cover the doors, and the whole trunk. not only will it cut down on rattleing it will be a little bit louder on the inside //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

yeah deff. invest in some good sound dead. maybe for you situation one that you would spray on like a second skin or something along those lines good luck.

p.s you can really only hear the rattly when your standing really close to my car. if you about 15 ft away you can't even hear it the bass will exceed the sound of the rattle
