Price of box

I have a 02 Z28...Not the most space friendly for a ported box! I have 2 twelve inch t1 woofers..and a 20001bd monoblock Fosgate amp.I listen to rap alot. And that is all I care about listening to when it comes to bass. Got a quote from a local shop for a ported box. Does 350 sound fair? Considering the car? Made of 3/4 mdf...

Pretty steep........You could probably get a box built by a member here for quite a bit less.

Or, better yet, get the plans and build it yourself. Spend the rest of the money on sound deadening or something.

IDK about fair, but people seem to think slapping a few pieces of wood together is worth a weeks pay for the average guy. Honestly, if I were you I would probably get one of the prefab boxes from that one site that lets you use your t-tops while having the enclosure in there. Can't remember the site, lemme look it up.

If you could get a design up with good dimensions Id be interested. Id have to look at the design to quote you though.

Find a design...quote it...I am no good lookin for em...already tried a few times... I can come to you and let you custom build to my car..or whatever...

That is pretty steep. Hell I was quoted 175 bucks for my box, ported for 1 12" FI Q and that was a foam in, plus the amp rack.

But was it for a camaro? I mean its a very hard box...I will give him that...But holy crap....That is close to a weks worth of wages. For him to get in one day.

I think it is a fair price. But then again, I am an installer.

And for the record I only recieve 50% of the money after the materials fee is taken out..

so for a 350.00 enclosure, I would get around 140.00

One thing you have to remember is I make on average 30-35.00 an hour

So 2-250.00 a day is almost standard for me Y you ask???

Well for the knowledge of how to to it right the first time, be very profecient at what I do, and to make customers happy.

But you also are in CALI! Wage grade is a little diffrent....So I bet in oklahoma you might get teens...maybe more....But 35 an hour is not even close....So yea 350 is a stupid price.

o..and let me know when ya find one.ports are hard to come by in camaros....i can find custom sealed mdf camaro boxes for $50 all day long on ebay. but when a port comes into the picture, its either nonexistent or $300+...so.. yea im interested too
