does anyone prefer sealed over ported?

I have had both and I enjoy both. I know wierd right.

My wall with the two 15s was ported and slammed like no other, but was geared more towards spl. My cutlass was the same and was even a little louder, but did better on music. Both those were well into the mid 150.s and I loved it. Now the older I get, I like the response of a sealed application, plus all the room I can save. I have a baby on the way now so need some trunk space, lol! I am currently running a 12" FI Q off 1000rms and almost at 140 dbs. I am still working on it.

fi q sealed or ported at almost 140db?

I prefer sealed because the boxes are generally smaller when comparing the same subs. I use my car on a daily basis, I even put the family groceries in it, so loading 2-15"s in a coffin sized enclosure is not an option.

Many people will say you can tune lower with a ported enclosure but cabin gain has already done that for you automatically. I'm not saying a ported enclosure has to sound bad. I'm just saying that most people here seem to tune for "highest output" not sound quality. Just look how easy it is to find a TL score as opposed to an RTA result on this forum. Does anyone who purchases a TL even buy the RTA upgrade?

i prefer sealed over ported... although i'm running a ported box atm.
mainly for space and sq. I recently went ported because i thought i wanted the extra output, but now the extra output is too much for my taste.

do you have a penis?
