Dodge Dakota Build Log

In some of these pictures you will be able to see my ****ups where things didnt align and there were gaps in the glue....

I give credit to most of that for my smartass working at night and barely being able to see anything.

Anyways, I will sand and patch up as much as I can and possibly carpet later on.

I just noticed how crooked that looks in the picture but it is just perspective. It is a perfectly straight cut just a bad joint. It will be filled and sanded.

Im also going to resin all the joints/corners from the inside to make a perfect air tight seal + added strength. Id do the whole box But i need the rest for my door pods.

The corners of the box are also going to be rounded So expect a lot better looking box coming up.

once again.. i didn't mix the resin good enough or just not enough hardener but 1 out of the 3 batches i made isn't drying yet.. =/ so i cant do anything until it does... Ill give it all night, if nothing happens ill try to pull it off and putt a clean layer back on. I might also go over all the corners with some silicone just to be sure i wont have any leaks at all!

i just spent the past hour an a half goin through this whole thread. an may i give u props an awesome build man. doin a great job an i know its goin to be badass when all is said an done.

also, nice song on vid #2, gorilla zoe-doeboy is one of my faves for bumping right now.

****, it takes that long to go through the whole thing now:crazy:

Its only gonna get longer hehe.

There is still gonnna be a shit load more work/pics when i get the box in + I need to build a new amp rack + rest of tint is coming soon + sounddeadener is also coming very soon, ontop of all that I still have 1 door pod to redo and one to strengthen and do a finish on them. Who knows what after that. I needa a **** job my *** is broke and all i do is work on my truck.

Someone took my sander and I cant smooth down the outside atm:verymad:

hopefully I will get that done 2morrow

MOAR PICS!!!!

So im getting the truck ready for the sound deadener when it comes to my door today.

The headliner was quite a ***** to take out. Held on a few different ways and some silicone that was stuck to it which confused the hell out of me. Anways finally got it out.. i guess the carpet and pannels will have to go to...

Tempting to take the doors of to atm but i don't want to loose any pieces. Ill probably run out of deadener too =/

want to atleast get one clean layer on the roof.

Another good layer on the doors + ensolite

2 layers if i have enough on the back wall + ensolite

and 1 layer on the floor if there is any to spare

oh yes and the pics:

Might as well put in a sliding ragtop while the headliner's down.

I also cant find me second spray can of glue!!!

but yeah turns out i have plenty of ensolite to go around.

I really wanted to get the sub box in today but it seems as if I had the day filled with another project.

I wish i had a clone me to help me out do this shit. That would be so awesome

Didnt realize i havent posted any deadening pics yet:crazy:

RaaMmatt Review

Well let me just make a few comments about raammatt

-Its really sticky stuff.. once you get it in place, its almost impossible to peel off even in the first 5 sec

-The aluminum backing is of good thickness... definitely kicks that edead shit i used to have to to the curb

-No cuts on my fingers

-It works pretty good 1 or 2 layers is all it took in most areas.

-Very noticeable difference

Ensolite:

I wasn't sure if i should have picked this stuff up at first but wow it does make a difference. I did one single layer over my deadened door and it got even quieter. From the outside the door sounds slightly heavier but still somewhat the same.

From the inside,

-Before any deadening you would hear a thunk, and some rattles and just lots of noise your used to.

-After raammatt just about all the vibration went away and the door just closed with a thump but still a little noise because i didnt cover up any holes.

-after ensolite... wow I did 3 cutouts to cover the hole door and i covered the holes this time. The difference was amazing. I shut the door and all you hear is a thud. Like dropping a big rubber weight on a concrete floor almost. noo rattles or vibrations sounded Very very solid!!!
